Website Design
I do not charge by the hour for website design — pricing is “flat-fee” based on the number of pages in your site and the features it contains.
- Layout and Stylesheet: $100
- I create a prototype front page based on preliminary discussions. The layout and stylesheet determine the overall look of the website, its color scheme and layout.
- Webpage Coding: $65 per page
- From text and images that you provide, each webpage is coded for presentation on the internet, using the layout and stylesheet on every page for a uniform appearance.
- Image Processing:
- Scanning, resampling, resizing, and optimizing each image, as needed, for use on the internet. An average of two separate images per web page are included in the price of each page. For example, a six-page web site could include twelve images, each of which could be used multiple times on the site.
- Site Navigation Menu
- How visitors move from page to page within your site. Options available are:
- Text menu: $20
Plain text links arranged as a vertical column of links in the left hand margin or horizontally across the header and/or footer. See Sanford UU Church
- CSS menu: $40
Plain text links using style sheet properties to produce a rollover effect. See Center for Communcation
- Imagemap menu: $60
A graphical alternative to using text links for site navigation. The image is divided into several hot spots, with each hot spot linking to a different page on your site. An imagemap menu often resembles a set of buttons or tabs, but can be created from any image. See Connecticut PTG
- Scripted menu: $80
Using Javascript or PHP for rollover or cascading effects. See Goodall Library
- Reply Form: $50
- Instead of clicking on an e-mail link, your visitors can just fill in an online form to contact you. This allows you to request specific types of information. Up to 10 elements.

Webmaster Services
Website maintenance and technical support: $80 per hour (billed in 15-minute segments)
Three webmaster plans are available:
- Pay as you go
- You contact me when you need me with the desired changes, I charge for the actual time required. Suitable for websites that need updating only a few times a year. Add or remove a page, change the content of a page, add a feature, change contact information, etc.
- Maintenance Contract
- If your website requires frequent updates (once a month or more), webmaster contracts are available on a monthly basis, with discounts (off my standard hourly rate) for longer terms. You contract for a minimum number of tech support hours per month, based on anticipated need. Additional hours would be billed at the discounted rate.
- Commission
- If you have an e-commerce website where you sell products or digital content, a commission arrangement may be possible, whereby I receive a percentage of sales generated by your website in exchange for being your webmaster.
